Crossing the Border

ASUChicano_PhilipDecker1.jpg

Migration, the movement of people from one region to another, is the result of numerous social and economic factors. This exhibit highlights important political and economic events in Arizona’s history that created a hotbed for anti-immigrant rhetoric and policies. We hope this exhibit will lead to further discussion about immigration reform.

Our Stories

Our Stories explores the migration/immigration stories of students in HST 325. Come explore student-conducted family research history, listen to oral history interviews conducted with family members, and read about how students used immigration history scholarship and arguments to connect their migration/immigration stories to the broader history of the United States.

Students also created a documentary incorporating their stories. The documentary premiered at ASU in December 2017. Click here to see the trailer.
